Cannabis – Safer than water?
So, what are the dangers of cannabis and cannabis?
Under conditions of physical stress, drinking too much water leads to hyponatremia, swelling of brain cells and death.
An American Association of Poison Control Center’s 31st annual report revealed:
- 2 million reported poisonings
- #1 = depression/anxiety/schizophrenia drugs
- #1 fatalities = depression/anxiety/schizophrenia drugs
- According to the 2015 World Drug Report over 200 million people consume Cannabis around the world. Number of deaths due to Cannabis – from over 200 million users = ZERO
There was a famous 14 year court battle with the DEA. At the conclusion of the court case Judge Young declared that you cannot kill yourself with cannabis, it is safer than many of the foods we routinely eat. Judge Francis Young included the following ‘findings of fact’:
- “In strict medical terms, Cannabis is far safer than many foods we commonly consume, eating ten raw potatoes can result in a potentially lethal toxic response. By comparison, it is physically impossible to eat enough Cannabis to induce death.”
- “Cannabis in its natural form is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man. By any measure of rational analysis Cannabis can be safely used within a supervised routine of medical care”
- “It would be unreasonable, arbitrary and capricious for the DEA to continue to stand between people suffering illness and the health benefits offered by Cannabis.”
The DEA disregarded Judge Young’s ruling. Soon after this and while maintaining that Cannabis is highly dangerous with no medical properties, the US Government filed patent # 6,630,507 which outlines scientific evidence that Cannabis is safe and has many medical properties.
There are no cannabinoid receptors on your brain stem – the part of your brain that regulates breathing and heart beat. If you overdose on pharma drugs they can overwhelm your brain stem receptors causing your heart or diaphragm to stop = you die. That can’t happen with cannabis. You can’t overdose to the point of death.
If you drink more than 1 litre of water per minute while under physiologic stress you can die.
You cannot die from consuming cannabis.
From these simple facts, it does seem that Cannabis is safer than water.
NOTE: This is NOT an exhaustive list of all the dangers of water, cannabis or other pharmaceuticals (that would require a VERY long blog).
NOTE: We are NOT suggesting cannabis is harmless or that you should use cannabis without your Doctors prescription – please consult your medical Doctor about these subjects and feel free to make the above references.
